To the Hon. Rep. Beutler, and all members of US Congress
The ability of Congress to decide War is part of our Constitutional framework in the division of powers. However, since the Korean and Vietnam eras, Congress has lent part of its responsibility to engage in war-like actions to the Executive office. Indeed, in the early 70's, Congress believed the Executive branch had gone too far and slightly restrict that officer under the War Powers Resolution.
It is time, as Rep. Adam Schiff will introduce a new resolution soon, that Congress revisit such powers and further restrict this particular US President. Given this particular POTUS's disposition to avoid traditional diplomacy, the North Korean willingness to use nuclear weaponry, the lack of any US real interest in NK, please support any resolution again limiting the US Executive to engage war, especially nuclear war. Quite frankly, a vote to avoid a nuclear WWIII is NOT political and is in all sanity the best course.
