In a recent article in the Huffington Post, authors Seth Davin Norrholm, PH.D. & David M. Reiss, M.D. provided a keen insight into DJT's personality disorder, Narcissism. The main question: why does DJT lie all the time, always "twisting facts" and distorting reality?
Here is a summary of their answers. However, note these doctors have given their warnings over their own professional Goldwater rule; second, that these doctors refer the personality disorder as “extreme” narcissism. I am voting they would agree in DJT’s case, we can call it “malignant” narcissism:
1. “The extreme Narcissist will distort reality and tenaciously maintain the existence of their distorted reality.” It’s a defense common among many personality disorders and various forms of psychopathology that protects Trump from distress. So, to distort reality, Trump preserves his grandiose view of himself, even if the distortion has “only the slightest chance of plausibility.” Trump “sees” what others don’t see (and thus he deludes his own sense of self-importance and intelligence), so he challenges listeners’ patience with half-truths and exaggerations.
2. “The extreme Narcissist lives in the moment with little regard for linear time, cause and effect, or behavioral consequences.” “Their perception is that it is all encompassed in terms of an immediate “now.”” Thus, Trump can experience a “now” moment and nothing in the past matters as he “re-experiences” the past (nothing is fixed in linear time). Furthermore, as Trump seeks adoration, he boasts and explains away his misdeeds without worrying about any future consequences. He will wiggle out of any factual narrative when confronted. (When has Trump not defended his present-self versus his past-self not even thinking about his future-self?)
“This may, at least in part, explain why there have been so many examples of this President contradicting his previous statements, speaking extemporaneously without substance to back his claims, or “flip-flopping” between positions, all without any indication that he is aware of or experiencing a sense of conflict or inconsistency, or any need to offer an explanation for the objectively illogical presentation.”
The authors go further to say that for “extreme narcissists,” who live in the “now” bubble, the future may not even include their own death, but some type of “magical immortality” forever glorifying in their own adulation.
3. “The extreme Narcissist develops a fantastical reality within “collapsed time.” Perhaps due to trauma or abuse in childhood in order to better cope with discomfort, time “stands still” for the child, or perhaps that same abused or troubled child without the promise of future comfort or reassurance, who has nothing to which to look forward, the child relieves the distress with immediate gratification in the bubble of “now.” He never seeks a future moment of relief. The authors speculate as to Trump’s childhood traumas or struggles as cause/effect for Trump’s malignancy.
(This “explanation” accounts for some portion of Trump’s previous life and any cause/effect leading to Trumps current life. Yet if such were the case, as we all have experienced end-runs of trauma and stress as children, wouldn’t we all be Trumps? )
Which leads the authors’ discussion to the next point:
4. When the reality confronts the “extreme Narcissist,” the first response is anxiety and a re-writing of the situation as a defensive and even greater restructuring of reality. If more evidence confronts the narcissist, the self-absorbed personality retreats into severe depression. (Hence, why my conclusion that Trump will resign, impeachment proceedings or none). Next stage is “full-blown” paranoid state. And, with great emphasis, the authors warn of Trump’s danger to “the millions upon whom his actions have consequences.”
Let’s just make that billions.

UPDATE and reference "Collapsed time": 2017.06 13 "Probably one of the most important aspects of his personality is that for Donald Trump there’s really no tense other than the present tense. He doesn’t think terribly much about the future, and he also doesn’t at all acknowledge that the past exists. I think he almost uniquely, in my experience, doesn’t really experience the past in his day-to-day life. When you ask him about things that took place earlier in his life, it’s almost as if they come fresh to him every time you mention them."
I’ll go out on a limb. No, I’m not a conspiratorialist. Rather, I hypothesize, as would a scientist using inductive reasoning would, trying to rule out the singular falsities in search for a truth. This hypothesis is based upon the psychological make-up not of DJT, but his patron of sorts, Vladimir Putin.
Putin’s character was shaped through the events that we, North Americans, missed, chiefly the fall of East Berlin and Eastern Germany. In those events, he was tested in various fronts of Soviet then Russia covert projects. His rise parallels the rise in intellectual technology, from super computers to micro-data in software development. One might say, he embraced the new machine.
All manner of reports are landing in mainstream media about the Russian plan to attack not just the US, but the free world via cyber-security and cyber-social outlets. It is a large, large plan, but something that fits within Putin’s outlook as well as personality. http://time.com/4783932/inside-russia-social-media-war-america/
Putin’s Personality: Putin, unlike Trump’s narcissistic penchant for adoration, wants balance, but not a benign balance. He has learned that to achieve balance, he must force the balance of behavior and thinking of others. In his mind, grown out of his limited temperament, there is an image of what the world should be, held in check chiefly by his strong hand of control. Think of his sports, his activities in martial arts led by his personality: purity in strength in balance under the man’s mind of control. (Not the woman’s mind of control. Mars versus Venus, here). Consider other aspects of Putin’s experience-taught character and their impact on his personality: the fall of Berlin, the fall of Soviet state further shaped his penchant for balance and control. See Putin and you see one who looks steady, acts steady; rarely smiles, rarely jokes. His aides wait upon him to speak as if he’s some form of Russian sensei or perhaps better, oyakata-sama*. Look to his long term methodology and you see one who views free media and free speech as a threat to his vision of balance. So, he reacts – he always reacts – with a plan, unlike DJT who “shoots from the hip” with his unique recklessness.
So, Putin plays chess, while DJT plays checkers. Yet, what if DJT were “innocent” of collusion with Russia espionage and hacking? What if DJT were not complicit, even while his erstwhile compatriots are? Lock up Flynn and company, but DJT – evidence? Putin is a planner; he is a cerebral, methodical chess-player: he would in all likelihood have calibrated his tactics to isolate his patsy from such culpability. For instance, he would have planted fake “dossiers” that when revealed just at the right time as false, would re-invigorate DJT’s allies and validate their place on the world’s stage, including Putin’s own place, growing as it is. (Again, I’m hypothesizing). This is Putin’s game of chess.
Still, there is one weakness here: what does DJT know that Putin does not? What secrets does DJT keep from his “secret” patron? Whatever it is, such as tax fraud, RICO violations outside the Russian money thread, there must be something. Putin loves control like DJT loves himself. However, Putin, like all finite beings, cannot have complete control. So, I ask again: what secrets does DJT keep that Putin does not know? They would be Putin’s Achilles heel.
*(oyakata-sama? Putin “worship” in Russia and Russians elsewhere is common, he is a father/god to many).
Why Would a Narcissist Go into Hiding for Five Days?
As reported by Zeleny and Mercia, May 9, 2017 (see infra), DJT has been “in hiding” or out of sight for five days. The article underscores his narcissism – DJT “relishes booming rallies, embraces the art of the photo op.” True, DJT rarely went a day without inviting the media to cover a meeting or an executive order signing.
The authors attribute his disappearance to “hard work” of governing. This conclusion is a stretch - -backwards. Indeed, I would imagine at any given time the White House office would be revising and reviewing multiple affairs of state behind closed doors. Yet, not DJT but his staff fed this story to the reporters that DJT is assiduously at work. Indeed, what did he do in the first two days? Play golf in Bedminister, New Jersey. Since then, nothing has been on camera.
However, for a full-blown narcissist even at work, he would still be on camera promoting his own self-image. Work would not interfere with his egoism. What traits does DJT possess that would make his introvert side control his extrovert? Would it be his sense of entitlement? His lack of conscience and empathy? Certainly not his sadistic streak or his egocentrism. Nor would it be his grandiosity, or his manipulative nature. It would be his paranoia.
Consider the context: DJT just spent several weeks in front of cameras to boost his image and self-image of his 100 days in office. He paraded the Senate in front of him; he partied with the House Republicans at his White House. Yet all this attention has netted him more discontentment in media and widespread voter malaise, displeasure and disgruntlement. In fact, for DJT, the result of all his self-aggrandizement is – more disapproval. DJT believes the world owes him everything; he, in turn, owes it nothing. Why, then, after weeks of trying to convince others of such “truth” does he disappear? He is paranoid that others are trying to stop him from winning, from getting what he selfishly wants. Also, perhaps, the investigations are eroding his unrealistic sense of superiority, his disdain of others. He has worked these 100 days not for America’s interest but worked to get others to agree with him that he is “king.”
When such effort produced little results, and not enough praise from the populous, DJT’s paranoia took control. DJT’s extreme and unreasonable suspicion of other people and their motives grows when he does not receive full adoration. He creates conspiracy theories; he throws tantrums; becomes unstable and attacks others. Today, DJT fired a loyal, federal employee doing his job to investigate crime and high treason. His anger possesses him like a demon. From his penchant for secrecy, brazen disregard for norms and hostility toward transparency, his paranoia will grow even greater.
He is not “working;” he is brooding and letting his paranoia take reign. Such is the malignant narcissist.

To the Hon. Rep. Beutler,
Please help support the appointment of a special prosecutor appointed to the Russia investigation. America needs an answer as to who was specifically involved, and how she/he was involved. We've been bruised by ill tales and lies, so let's be a better nation - support this appointment to finalize all that we deserve to know.
Comey's firing and implausible reasons provided by Mr. Trump indicates some hidden agenda or worse.
We're better than this; please support an independent prosecution!
Trump has once again opened the door into his psyche. This time it’s his review of Kim Jong Un. His end of April narrative, at a time when the NK leader has shown no reticence regarding his willingness to invoke a nuclear war, is rather complimentary. No, Trump is actually showing his transference. His choice of facts parallels his own life.
"At a very young age, [Kim Jong Un] was able to assume power.“ In comparison, DJT took over his father’s work at a youngish age. “A lot of people, I'm sure, tried to take that power away, whether it was [KJU’s] uncle or anybody else. And he was able to do it. So obviously, he's a pretty smart cookie." DJT views KJU’s life the same as his: Trump’s narcissism, through each decade of his life rejected by those that disagree with him, has never received what Trump feels is his just rewards. Trump compliments his “brain” all the time, as he thinks he is a “smart cookie,” and, I’m sure, wants the same accolade. “I can tell you this, and a lot of people don't like when I say it, but he was a young man of 26 or 27 when he took over from his father, when his father died. He's dealing with obviously very tough people, in particular the generals and others.” How does DJT share KJU’s pain at losing his father? DJT and his father were not close. They talked only of business. I’m sure a young Donald would have wanted more from his father, but not so with older Donald.
Still, why did DJT choose this facet of KJU’s life, expressing sympathy at KJU’s so-called struggle for legitimacy and admiration for KJU’s survival?
See what Trump said at his own father’s death:
When Fred died, Donald Trump gave a cheerful quote for his father’s New York Times obituary, focusing on the way his dad had never wanted to expand into Manhattan. “It was good for me,” he said. “You know, being the son of somebody, it could have been competition to me. This way, I got Manhattan all to myself!” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/mar/26/donald-trump-fred-trump-father-relationship-business-real-estate-art-of-deal
So, not only is Trump demonstrating transference, but he is reaching out to get his own attention and identification with these chosen, twisted comments on a horrible tyrant. His oddly selected choice of facts parallels his own life. Since Trump is a man with almost zero ability to empathize or imagine other people’s motives or drives, these strange comments reflect his own life. Get it? He has no understanding of anyone but himself, so when he described KJU, he attributed motive, needs, or desires in KJU which are something from within DJT that he recognized. The comments were a reflection of feelings he himself has.
Once again, we see the traits of DJT's narcissism in his last statement that his former, private life was better than that of being POTUS. This week's "insight" through this clever interviewer's question shows a pattern of lifelong narcissism. Did you catch it?
In DJT's past, he moved from one focus to another, from one group of supporters to another. He settled in an area, rattled cages, destroyed and moved on. It's all because when he can't find an adoring crowd to indulge his over-blown sense of self-love, when his delusion of his grandiosity is weakening, he caves. He moves on. Trump’s three-part cycle: He idealizes himself as President, devalues criticism (found in mainstream media), and finally he discards.
Trump is a control-freak and so, as America (especially with #Resistance) will not do what he want without question, he will cave.
My prediction: With the pressure building in his trail of corruption, incompetence and desire to build an authoritarian government in a free society, Trump will quit his presidency. He will probably fake some tale about health issues, but he'll resign... all because of his malignant narcissism! It won't be a threat of impeachment or trial for treason. His self-love and ego is not appreciated; his sense of entitlement, is denied; his own grandiosity is thwarted by a strong resistance. As Trump does not take orders from others (outside Ivanka), as he is egotistical and maniacal, he will not bend to a real threat. What will end Trump as POTUS is a big hit to his self-esteem. His malignant narcissism will control the decision, and narcissism unmet with the attention it seeks will be the cause which ends this insanity. Thus, the end will come from Trump, himself.
Remember! Trump is an insane individual who loves only himself and wants everyone to talk about him, ill or good; let's stop the madness - let's talk about who we are, who we see ourselves to be, talk about our virtues, hopes and future.

Trump is Devaluing All Criticism: The Next "Step" is He Resigns!
Earlier in this post, I had provided a prediction regarding Trump's departure from the WH. As Trump returned from his manic or high-inducing world tour, in which he revealed parts of his dementia (walking away incident with Netanyahu), and during which he was feted like a king in Saudi Arabia, but ostracized in NATO's meetings, he has fallen back into his empty world of "one." It's really a narcissist's prison induced by a world that does not permit the existence of others unless those others are in complete adoration of the one. He's not a king here; he's a public servant. Yet, for DJT, that makes no sense. Reality in Washington DC is a far cry from "Trumpworld." Here's CNN's recent take on DJT's return:
"Trumpworld is run by Trump. Mistakes are made by Trump. And all of this is powered by this singular view on the Russia crisis, says one ally: that Trump believes he has no responsibility for any of this political trauma, that it is created by the mainstream media concocting conspiracies where none exist:
"He's sitting there saying, like he does with everything, 'You guys work for me. Fix this.'"
Again, from my earlier post, it's all because when he can't find an adoring crowd to indulge his over-blown sense of self-love, when his delusion of his grandiosity is weakening, he caves. He moves on. Trump’s three-part cycle: He idealizes himself as President, devalues criticism (found in mainstream media), and finally he discards.
"No one is giving him the landscape -- this is how it works, this is what you should do or not do. And no one has enough control -- or security -- or do that," says one.
DJT has gained weight, he's grumpy/unhappy, and even his closest -- his wife/daughter Ivanka and her DJT surrogate husband Jared -- are unable to assuage his foul moods while they are under FBI investigation. Expect more to depart the WH, and if DJT is true to his narcissistic/sociopathic personality disorder, DJT himself. He'll lie about whatever counterfeit health issue he affects, but in reality - the real reality - it's his ego that needs out of the White House. Then, upon his "departure," and his return to his Trumpworld, watch and see he'll restart tweeting his caustic critiques, as he is then safely adored in his tiny, tiny prison of one.
To the Hon. Rep. Beutler, and all members of US Congress
The ability of Congress to decide War is part of our Constitutional framework in the division of powers. However, since the Korean and Vietnam eras, Congress has lent part of its responsibility to engage in war-like actions to the Executive office. Indeed, in the early 70's, Congress believed the Executive branch had gone too far and slightly restrict that officer under the War Powers Resolution.
It is time, as Rep. Adam Schiff will introduce a new resolution soon, that Congress revisit such powers and further restrict this particular US President. Given this particular POTUS's disposition to avoid traditional diplomacy, the North Korean willingness to use nuclear weaponry, the lack of any US real interest in NK, please support any resolution again limiting the US Executive to engage war, especially nuclear war. Quite frankly, a vote to avoid a nuclear WWIII is NOT political and is in all sanity the best course.
It was before and during the 2016 Election that Melania Knauss Trump denied her escort service connection. However, that "scandal" was poorly handled by the media, as they focused on her "Trump" style lawsuit ("I'll threaten to sue you") which the defendant could not afford, rather than focus on the modeling service that Paolo Zampolli ran. Rumors were rampant in Slovenia that Melania was a paid escort alongside her modeling gig. Indeed, the modeling career was hardly a career. http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/donald-trump-melania-trump-knauss-first-lady-erections. In New York, Trump, himself and his crooked business partner, Tommaso Buti, opened their own "Modeling" Agency. As early as 1999, Leonardo di Caprio described Trump’s poser business as “one-stop date-shopping.” It is important to note that Trump used meet-and-greet parties where his wealthy friends, high-rollers could meet models wrangled for him by cooperative owners of lesser agencies, including Zampolli's own, in which Melania then worked.
Why is not one media outlet digging into this carbuncular story that Melania was a paid escort?
When a rational mind meets an irrational mind, what is the correct course of dealing? There is none. The Rational must "cage" the Irrational. I see and read about so many who attempt to just talk to Trump as if he were rational, only to discover that talking fails miserably. Trump's mind must win, be on top, and push others below. How can any rational person deal with such a reasonless brain? He can't. Impeach Trump.
